FAQs
Your Questions Answered
Explore our most common questions for this treatment.
How do I decide whether this treatment is right for me?
If you have a small, visible skin concern that affects your confidence or comfort – such as a skin tag, milia, sunspot, thread vein or other localised blemish – this treatment is likely a great option.
During your consultation, Rachel will assess the area, explain the treatment method, and confirm whether blemish removal or an alternative approach is the safest and most effective choice for your skin.
You’ll never be rushed or pressured – just supported with clear, honest advice.
What happens during treatment?
After a full consultation, the area will be cleansed and prepared. Rachel uses a fine probe to apply a tiny, controlled amount of heat (thermolysis) directly to the blemish.
This process either breaks down the lesion or cuts off its blood supply, depending on what’s being treated. Most clients describe the sensation as a quick, sharp scratch or sting that passes instantly.
The treatment is fast, precise, and designed to target only the area that needs attention.
How do I prepare for this treatment?
Preparation is very simple, but a few steps help ensure the best results:
-
Avoid facial self-tanning products for at least 48 hours before treatment
-
Do not apply retinol, AHAs, BHAs or strong exfoliants to the area for 3–5 days beforehand
-
Keep the skin clean and avoid heavy makeup on the treatment area
-
Inform Rachel of any medications, medical conditions, or changes to your health
-
Moles and pigmented lesions should be checked and approved by your GP before booking a removal appointment. This ensures the area is safe and suitable for cosmetic treatment.
You’ll receive full pre-treatment guidance so you know exactly how to prepare.
What downtime should I expect?
Downtime is usually very minimal.
You may experience:
-
Mild redness
-
Slight swelling
-
A small scab as the area heals naturally
This is completely normal and usually resolves within a few days.
Most clients return to normal activities immediately after treatment. Any temporary scabbing or dryness can easily be covered with mineral makeup once it’s safe to do so.
Are there any aftercare considerations?
Yes – proper aftercare ensures the best results. Rachel will provide personalised instructions, but general advice includes:
-
Keep the area clean and dry for the first 24 hours
-
Avoid picking or touching any scabs that form
-
Avoid saunas, steam rooms, swimming and intense heat for 48 hours
-
Protect the area from the sun with SPF to prevent pigmentation
-
Avoid active skincare (retinol, AHAs/BHAs, exfoliants) until fully healed
Following these steps helps the skin heal beautifully and reduces the risk of irritation or pigmentation.
